SatAIlite TM

The SatAIlite ™ system incorporates accelerometers into the wireless battery-free sensor with a footprint similar to that of a typical battery powered sensor.  It functions utilizing a base station or charge beacon, which constantly communicates with SatAIlite sensors wirelessly.

The SatAIlite sensors measure and return processed data. Base stations are fundamentally an intelligent transponder or EDGE device that further process data in real-time while communicating with the client server and/or MMS cloud analytics software.

The SatAIlite system is an effective energy harvesting system that can be utilized in harsh industrial settings. SatAIlite is currently undergoing field trials and required testing for Hazardous Area Classification and is expected to be released for general industrial application later in 2026.

Background Information

In late 2022, Machinery Monitoring Systems, LLC embarked on a quest to eliminate wires and batteries from industrial sensors by harvesting radio frequency (RF) energy from a charge beacon or base station. In 2025 we introduced our prototype wireless battery-free triaxial accelerometer at the Gas Machinery Conference.  Over the past year, our R&D team has focused on advancing energy efficiency, charge range, data processing, artificial intelligence (AI), and overall system throughput. In parallel, we have continued our work with the University at Buffalo’s Data Science Department who is working to create a strategic shift toward a new paradigm of agent-based predictive intelligence—moving beyond traditional HMI and rule-based alarming systems to autonomous agents that continuously monitor data streams and detect patterns based on trained fault signatures. This represents a step change from reactive monitoring to proactive, intelligent system optimization.
